Exel names new leadership

Exel — a Westerville, Ohio-based supply chain management provider and a Deutsche Post World Net company — announced the promotions of three top executives.

William F. Meahl, previously chief executive officer of DHL Exel Supply Chain Americas, has been promoted to chief operating officer of DHL Exel Supply Chain globally. In this role, he will be responsible for global business processes, including:

  • Operational performance, including First Choice, a worldwide strategic initiative to increase customer satisfaction; risk management; and safety;
  • Customer management, including account management, marketing and external communications; and
  • Business development, including global sectors and opportunity management.
    Meahl has led the Americas region since 2007 and previously served as CEO of contract logistics. He has been with the company for 26 years.
  • In conjunction, Exel promoted John Gilbert to CEO of DHL Exel Supply Chain Americas. Previously, Gilbert served as president of the company’s consumer and life sciences Americas business units for nearly five years and recently was named head of DHL Exel Supply Chain’s global consumer organization. John joined Exel in 1994.

    Exel also promoted Scott Sureddin to the role of president of consumer and life sciences Americas. In this role, Sureddin will be responsible for directing the business units’ growth strategy, development and operations across the Americas. He joined Exel in 2002 and most recently was senior vice president of operations for the consumer business unit.
