Ruan Transport Corp. has promoted Matt Skembo to director of business development in the Southern California region. Skembo — who has been with Ruan for 18 months, most recently as management trainee — will be responsible for acquiring new business and building current customers’ business, and also will help customers identify supply chain efficiencies such as backhaul opportunities.
Prior to joining Ruan, Skembo spent more than six years in the U.S. Air Force stationed in several locations around the world. “Matt is a welcome addition to the sales team,” says Eric Lee, senior vice president of sales for Des Moines, Iowa-based Ruan. “With his diverse skill set and demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships, we know he’ll do a great job in his new position.”
