Retread America, a supplier of retreads to the intermodal and commercial tire industries, has opened an Oliver Rubber retread plant close to its North American headquarters in Florence, Ky. The new facility employs Oliver Rubber retreading equipment and supplies Oliver retreads to intermodal and commercial customers.

“Oliver Rubber is a proven industry supplier of quality retreads, and we are confident in the company’s ability to provide excellent retreading products to our customers,” says Rodney Goderwis, president of Retread America. “We selected Oliver Rubber because they offer one of the broadest product lines in the industry, which will enable us to offer premium retreads at value prices for all segments.”

Retread America is the primary retread supplier to InterStar North America Inc., a maintenance and repair management network serving the transportation industry. The Oliver Rubber retreads supplied by Retread America will address the needs of InterStar’s intermodal and emergency response system (ERS) for its commercial fleet customers.

“Oliver Rubber welcomes Retread America into the Oliver family of retreaders,” says Bill Guzick, president of Oliver Rubber. “We look forward to working with Retread America and InterStar to develop the ERS and intermodal business to its full potential. The Oliver retreading plant also is a perfect fit with InterStar’s cooperative agreement with Michelin North America to offer Michelin brand truck tires through InterStar’s ERS network.”

Oliver Rubber sells retread rubber under the Oliver and MegaMile brands for commercial, industrial and over-the-road tires. It operates a retread rubber production facility in Asheboro, N.C., and a retread equipment division in Salisbury, N.C. The company, headquartered in Greenville, S.C., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Michelin North America Inc.
