Kenworth announced Thursday, Nov. 13, that it will incorporate new cab and sleeper interior appointments for its Class 8 models starting next month. The Kirkland, Wash.-based truck maker also has added fuel tank options for its T170 Class 5 model.

  • Kenworth says it is adding Trust Walnut-colored wood finish accents to the dash, doors and sleeper panel trim for the T660, T800, W900 and C500 models with the Diamond interior. The T2000 with the Diamond interior will receive the Trust Walnut wood finish accent on the upper dash trim and black finish accent on the lower dash trim, according to Kenworth.
  • The new Marathon seat insert material becomes standard for Kenworth’s Air-Cushion Plus, Air-Cushion Premium Plus and Steel Tool Box Plus proprietary seats, and for sofa beds in Kenworth’s 86-inch AeroCab and 72-inch AeroCab AeroDyne sleepers. The company says the new seat material provides a fresh look for the driver and rider seats and Kenworth sofa bed, and retains the same stain-resistant treatment of the previous seat material.

  • The truck maker says the T170 — which serves applications in pickup and delivery, general freight, leasing and rental, towing and recovery, landscaping and construction — can be ordered with optional 30-gallon under-cab rectangular steel fuel tanks. The 30-gallon under-cab options include a single right-hand side tank, and dual right-hand and left-hand side tanks. The dual 30-gallon tank configuration requires an in-cab battery box, or customers can choose to order a battery box that Kenworth mounts temporarily across the frame rails, with final installation done by a body builder. The T170 is standard with a 35-gallon rectangular steel fuel tank.
