Emerson names Penske Logistics to its top global suppliers list

Penske Logistics announced that its has been honored as a Marquee Supplier by Emerson. Penske was one of 38 companies recognized for meeting global critical production and delivery needs. This is the second year that Emerson has given out this award.

“We’re honored to be recognized by Emerson as one of their top global suppliers,” says Vince Hartnett, president of Reading, Pa.-based Penske Logistics. “We have successfully implemented a series of integrated solutions for freight transportation between Mexico and the U.S. for three Emerson divisions.”

Criteria for the honor includes superior quality and service, alignment with Emerson’s strategic initiatives, meeting the needs of Emerson businesses around the world, successful integration of Emerson’s new product development processes, support of lean supply chain initiatives and the involvement of senior management.

“Emerson’s ability to meet its customers’ needs around the world requires business partners who share our intensity of purpose and can deliver the highest levels of quality, creativity and responsiveness,” says Ed Monser, Emerson chief operating officer. “We are very pleased to recognize Penske Logistics for its performance on our behalf in 2008.”
