Ocean Spray, a North American producer of canned and bottled juice drinks, has named C.H. Robinson’s Transportation Management Center (TMC) as its Third Party Logistics Provider Supplier of the Year. TMC, a division of C.H. Robinson that stresses a transparent and neutral approach to transportation management, was recognized for its support in supply chain management.

“TMC has truly become an extension of Ocean Spray’s transportation and logistics teams,” says June Youngs, director of supply chain for Ocean Spray. “They are clearly focused on continuous improvement, committed to our success and sharing our vision of a premier supply chain leader. Their continued dedication to service, flexibility and strategic solutions positively impacts Ocean Spray’s transportation logistics team and spend.”

TMC has seven members onsite at Ocean Spray to help better manage their freight costs. Ocean Spray says utilizing TMC’s people and technology has led to improved carrier performance, with ontime deliveries through critical reporting and greater visibility into its supply chain. TMC’s team manages daily execution, provides track and trace, and manages exceptions while providing reporting to enable strategic supply chain decisions.

“We are honored to receive this award,” says Tyler White, general manager of Minneapolis-based C.H. Robinson’s TMC. “Our technology helped Ocean Spray capture the order level information they needed to plan, optimize and control their shipments. Working together strategically has reduced costs, created efficiencies and has increased savings in Ocean Spray’s supply chain. Our relationship is a great example of how working together can prove very beneficial.”
