Old Dominion Freight Line kicked off its 75th anniversary celebration at this year’s National Industrial Transportation League Annual Meeting and TransComp Exhibition Nov. 14-19 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Old Dominion is launching its new “Promises” marketing campaign and its 75th Anniversary Tour, a 27-city road tour featuring a customized truck with interactive displays outlining the company’s history.

Old Dominion’s new Promises campaign featuring the new tagline, “Helping the world keep promises,” was crafted by Raleigh, N.C.-based integrated marketing communications agency RBW to emphasize the company’s commitment to its customers. “The Promises campaign emphasizes our focus on the human, emotional, relationship-driven aspect of the business,” says Earl Congdon, executive chairman of the board for the Thomasville, N.C.-based less-than-truckload carrier. “At Old Dominion, we believe the world runs on promises, and no transportation company is better suited or skilled to keep those promises than we are.”

Old Dominion’s 75th anniversay tour, which began at Old Dominion’s Miami Service Center on Sunday, Nov. 16, includes a customized rolling museum featuring a complete breakdown of Old Dominion’s history through the years. The 75th Anniversary Tour Rig is a 38-ton hydraulic-enabled 2009 Freightliner DD15 Cascadia.
