Third-party logistics (3PL) provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide has announced that it is expanding its operations to the Czech Republic. The C.H. Robinson-Prague International office provides transportation services to companies with freight needs and will focus on international air and ocean freight, both full container load and less-than-container load.

“We have seen significant growth and increasing trade in the Czech Republic,” says Rob Bongaerts, managing director of European forwarding for Minneapolis-based C.H. Robinson. “There are many diverse markets in the area — such as machinery, automotive, rubber and glass — that are developing quite rapidly. We feel this is a great opportunity to be in the region. Our local market knowledge and our network around the world allows for strong competitive advantages that are beneficial to our customers.”

In addition to the Prague office, C.H. Robinson has 26 offices across Europe and a network of 224 offices around the world. “C.H. Robinson’s international forwarding business continues to grow and expand at a steady pace,” Bongaerts says. “Despite the challenging economy, we are continuing to invest in our network and our people. Because of rising costs and lower consumer demand, many shippers are re-examining their supply chains and transportation plans to find ways to be more efficient and cut costs. Our flexible model and our technology provide a lot of value to shippers in this kind of environment.”
