Con-way Truckload announced that it has named Randy Cornell vice president of recruiting and safety. In his new role, Cornell manages the company’s marketing and public relations, as well as driver recruitment advertising and retention efforts. He also oversees safety department functions ranging from government and regulatory compliance to driver training.
Cornell joined the Joplin, Mo.-based company in 1985 as an over-the-road driver. Over the next 23 years, he has moved on to a variety of positions throughout the organization, including claims manager, director of safety, director of maintenance and vice president of maintenance. He has served as vice president of safety since January 1999.
