Descartes Systems Group, a global on-demand software-as-a-service (SaaS) logistics solutions provider, has extended its relationship with Delta Cargo to provide technology underlying Delta Cargo’s electronic air freight booking portal.
Delta Cargo has selected Descartes’ GF-X Private Label solution to support www.deltacargo.com, a Delta-branded electronic booking portal for major freight forwarders and known shippers working with Delta Cargo. The company says its website has been enhanced to offer full international route and product offerings in addition to domestic freight booking. Shippers also may book dangerous goods, human remains and pets through the portal.
Delta Cargo says customers can use the private-label solution to book cargo through the website and query their shipment needs; the system responds with details on available cargo capacity and rates. When a cargo reservation is made online through the Delta Cargo website, an electronic confirmation is delivered to the customer, according to the company; freight allocations also can be booked.
