Filiberto “Fili” Coello has joined Phillips Industries as general manager of the company’s Electrical Harness Division (EHD). In his new position, Coello will be responsible for continuous improvement in the division’s production and customer service levels.
Coello has 14 years of general manager experience and nearly 25 years in the automotive industry, including wire harness manufacturing. He successfully has converted manufacturing operations, both new and old, from traditional to lean factories.
“Fili’s years in the automotive industry include time spent with Toyota learning their exceptional lean manufacturing processes, and we’ll rely on those skills to bring continuous improvement to our EHD operations,” says Rob Phillips, director of operations for Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based Phillips Industries.
Phillips’ Electrical Harness Division has transitioned successfully to its new site in Saltillo, Mexico, under the direction of Mike Langan, who will continue to work with the company on special projects.
