Peterbilt Motors Co. and its employees announced a $452,995 contribution to the United Way of Denton County’s 2008-2009 fund-raising campaign. Peterbilt presented $291,000 of the donation at a special ceremony Nov. 25 at Peterbilt’s headquarters in Denton, Texas, with the remaining $161,995 to be distributed to the organization monthly in 2009.
“With the deterioration of today’s economic conditions, many in our communities are in serious need of health and human services provided by the United Way of Denton County,” says Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president. “Thanks to the generous contributions of our employees, Peterbilt has played a significant role in improving the lives of our friends, neighbors and those in our community who need our help.”
Peterbilt is the United Way of Denton County’s largest single contributor, accounting for more than 25 percent of its total annual fund-raising dollars.
“Each year, Peterbilt reaffirms their commitment to United Way of Denton County in a big way, and this year is no exception,” says Todd Price, the 2009 United Way Campaign chair. “The generous employees of Peterbilt make a tremendous difference in our campaign and allow United Way and its agencies to make lasting changes in the lives of so many people. There is no way we would be able to provide the quantity and quality of assistance without Peterbilt’s support.”
