McLeod Software — a provider of dispatch, accounting and operations fleet management software — announced today, Dec. 4, that it has completed the integration of the 22nd annual upgrade of PC Miler 22 from ALK Technologies Inc. The latest versions of ALK’s routing, mileage and mapping software solutions provide enhanced capabilities for McLeod’s LoadMaster IX and PowerBroker II transportation management systems, according to the companies.

“With the integration of the newest solutions from ALK Technologies, our freight brokerage and motor carrier customers will have enhanced routing and mapping capabilities to go along with our enterprise solutions,” says Tom McLeod, president and chief executive officer of Birmingham, Ala.-based McLeod Software. “PC Miler 22 is the latest in a series of enhancements to our products that will improve a carrier’s or freight broker’s ability to manage business processes for optimum efficiency and profitability.”

ALK says PC Miler 22 includes an update of map data related to truck restrictions, including an 84 percent increase in truck-restricted roadway and a 159 percent increase in the number of truck restrictions and allowances.

“Our latest PC Miler 22 software and McLeod Software’s advanced enterprise systems will help our mutual customers maximize revenues and minimize costs,” says Roy Schijns, vice president of sales for PC Miler 22 Solutions at ALK Technologies. “By integrating these software solutions, clients will have accurate data at their fingertips, which they can use to enhance productivity and efficiency in logistics, freight brokerage and carrier operations.”

McLeod says its transportation management systems include a strategic series of enhancements. New operational capabilities incorporated into PowerBroker II, a software solution for brokerage and third-party logistics providers introduced earlier this year, are designed to increase workflow speed and enable brokers to access the real-time data necessary to make more informed decisions. A key enhancement to PowerBroker II is a new Brokerage Web Portal incorporated into the system’s Internet Module designed to streamline and speed the load-matching process for brokers and carriers alike.
