Greatwide Logistics Services — a national provider of nonasset-based transportation and third-party logistics services — announced that Lloyd Boyd has joined the company as chief information officer. Boyd will have full IT responsibility across all four of Greatwide’s lines of business: Dedicated Transport, Truckload Management, Distribution Logistics and Freight Brokerage. His first priority will be optimizing Greatwide’s technology platform and infrastructure across the entire enterprise.

“The expansion of our executive leadership team to include a CIO marks an important milestone for Greatwide,” says Ray Greer, chief executive officer of the Dallas-based company. “As we work to more fully leverage our business units and offer more complete end-to-end supply chain solutions, the timing is right to introduce a higher level of oversight to the IT function. Lloyd’s background and capabilities fit very well with our strategy of engaging the marketplace with increasingly sophisticated full-service solutions.”

Prior to joining Greatwide, Boyd served as CIO of CEVA Freight Management/Eagle Global Logistics. He also has held a variety of CIO and leadership roles with privately held Koch Industries and Nissan North America. He has extensive global experience, having managed teams across most continents and having lived and worked in Japan.
