Aljex Image Link designed to ease invoice support

Aljex — a provider of hosted management software for freight brokers, 3PLs and other transportation providers — has introduced Image Link, a document management enhancement designed to speed and simplify the billing process for all Aljex users.

Aljex says Image Link enables its customers to automatically e-mail or fax invoices and Proof of Delivery documents; transportation providers won’t need to copy, collate and stuff invoices and PODs into envelopes, and they also save 42 cents in postage for each load billed.

According to Aljex, Image Link combines the document images needed to support an invoice into a single file. Document images can include proof-of-delivery signatures, bills of lading, load manifests, weight tickets or other documents scanned and saved in any major image format, including JPG, TIFF, PNG and PDF. Since images can originate from many different places, such as inbound fax-to-e-mail programs, Image Link converts invoices and multiple image formats into a single PDF file while correctly scaling them to the page so they display and print consistently, the company says.

Since Aljex is hosted and includes outbound fax as part of its standard software hosting, faxed billing is sent with no expense to an Aljex client. In addition, Image Link is available to Aljex customers at no additional charge and can be used immediately; there is no need to wait for, pay for or install a new software version.

“There is always a better, easier and more efficient way to do something,” says Tom Heine, president of Middlesex, N.J.- based Aljex. “Finding, refining and implementing that better way is what we do here at Aljex. We are constantly looking for improvements that provide major savings for our clients. Image Link is just the most recent example.”
