Webb Wheel Products announced Tuesday, March 3, that its OEM business unit manufacturing facility in Tell City, Ind., has been awarded ISO/TS16949 quality certification. Vehicle component suppliers achieving ISO/TS16949 certification meet rigorous standards for developing a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste.

Webb’s OEM business unit Tell City facility, a green field site that opened in 2005, produces hubs, drums and rotors for heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including the new Webb Vortex lightweight gray iron brake drum. Kent Finkbiner, president of the OEM business unit, congratulated the members of the Tell City team for accomplishing this important goal.

“We set the objective one year ago to upgrade our ISO certification to TS,” Finkbiner says. “It was a great focused effort by the entire team to accomplish that goal. We recognize that our TS16949 quality certification tells the industry that products manufactured at our facility are consistently of the highest quality. The entire team at Tell City feels the responsibility for meeting that objective.”
