International Truck and Engine Corp. recently named Alabama-based dealer Southland International Trucks as its worldwide dealer of the year for 2008. Southland International President Drew Linn accepted the honor March 6 during International’s 28th Annual Circle of Excellence Ceremony at the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. Linn is the ninth recipient of the award, which is given annually to one of 260 International dealers worldwide.
According to International Vice President of Dealer Operations John Whitnell, the Circle of Excellence program examines performance of financial standards, operations, market representation and customer satisfaction. A Dealer of the Year honoree must be consistently exceptional in all areas of the truck distribution business, including sales, operations, parts and service support, used trucks and leasing, as well as investing in business processes, personnel development and facilities.
Last year, Southland delivered more trucks than any other International dealership, according to International officials. “Drew and all of the employees at Southland have earned this significant recognition as the 2008 Dealer of the Year,” Whitnell says.
