Red Dot Corp., a provider of climate control solutions for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, has appointed Stephen Machin vice president, responsible for global manufacturing. Machin will lead teams in charge of production at Red Dot’s facilities in Seattle; Memphis, Tenn.; and Ipswich, Suffolk, U.K. He also will continue his role as managing director of Red Dot Europe, dividing his time among the company’s three manufacturing locations.

“Stephen was hired in 2001 to build Red Dot’s manufacturing operation in Europe,” says Randy Gardiner, Red Dot president and chief executive officer. “His success there is a testament to his ability to find efficiencies, work collaboratively with engineers and managers in our Seattle office, and deliver world-class products. Now Stephen’s focus has been expanded to include Seattle, Memphis and other international manufacturing endeavors. We expect that he’ll do a superb job.”

Prior to joining Red Dot, Machin had more than 11 years of managerial experience in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) equipment manufacturing. He was named to Red Dot’s board of directors in 2006.

Red Dot designs and builds premium climate control components, integrated systems, replacement parts and aftermarket units for vehicles in demanding work environments. Product applications include construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, military, commercial freight and emergency service vehicles. Based in Seattle, Red Dot has 400 employees in the United States, Europe, Mexico and China, and more than 175 aftermarket distributor locations in North America.
