Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems has announced the production of its two millionth brake shoe at a New Generation Friction Center. The Kansas City, Mo.-based company says it has updated four friction centers with the most progressive manufacturing process in the relining industry, which includes new equipment upgrades and a 30 point inspection procedure to ensure product quality.
Haldex says that over the past two years, it has invested more than $1 million to create its New Generation Friction Centers, which has led to many significant process and quality improvements. According to the company, several steps have been automated to yield higher quality and productivity:
