Truck-Lite has added a low-profile application to the current LED Solid-State Warning (SWL) offering. The company says the lower profile provides a shorter standing, making the lamp less susceptible to physical damage as well as expanding its functionality on municipal and off-highway equipment. According to Truck-Lite, the low-profile lamp meets or exceeds SAE Warning Lamp Standard J845 Class 1 legal functions at 12v to 16v and is operational down to 8v, at temperatures from -40 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit.

The company says the lenses — made of impact-resistant, durable threaded polycarbonate — have optics designed to maximize the functionality of LEDs; all optics are internal, leaving a smooth outer surface to facilitate easier cleaning and resistance to buildup. The powder-coated die-cast aluminum base is designed for ease of mounting and corrosion resistance, while electronics and light sources are fully encapsulated in epoxy to facilitate added resistance to corrosion from road chemicals and corrosive environments.

According to Truck-Lite, each SWL operates with peak current of 3 amps to flash its 18 light-emitting diodes (LEDs); the SWL can be wired to provide dual or quad flash patterns. Options include a yellow (amber) lens or a clear lens with yellow LEDs; the SWL screw-on lenses require no tools for replacement, the company says. The lamps are designed to be surface-mounted and also are threaded with 1-inch NPT threads for pipe-mounting.
