Sloan Transportation Products has added the Detroit Diesel 6122 Water Pump to its water pump lineup. The water pump’s features, according to Sloan, include:

  • An OE-quality DuPont Nylon backing plate;
  • A John Crane ceramic water seal;
  • A double-lip oil seal;
  • SKF main bearings;
  • A fatigue-proof steel shaft; and
  • Fluorocarbon Teflon-coated O-rings.
  • Sloan says the pump is suited for total engine health and is designed to handle higher underhood temperatures due to stricter U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emissions regulations and standards.

    Recognizing this, Sloan also announced that it has retooled and expanded its water pump line to include 30 new pumps. In addition to Detroit Diesel, Sloan says it carries a wide variety of pumps for Case, Caterpillar, Cummins, Chevrolet, Ford, GM/GMC, International, Komatsu, Mack, Mercedes and ThermoKing.

    Sloan says it also has eliminated remanufactured water pumps and core charges from the company’s product line, reduced prices on water pumps and increased the shipping box strength to ensure the pumps arrive to their destinations in excellent condition.

    “We are really excited about our expanded water pump line, and the addition of the 6122,” says David Krohn, president of Sloan Transportation Products, based in Holland, Mich. “Water pumps are a critical component to engine longevity.”
