PeopleNet, a provider of Internet-based and integrated onboard computing and mobile communications management, on Monday, May 11, announced the launch of what it describes as the industry’s first platform for drill-down comparative reporting that covers extended time periods.

PeopleNet says its Logistics Intelligence platform, based on SAP’s Business Objects, drives its new PerformX Dashboard, a graphical display designed to quickly identify the highest- and lowest-performing drivers or vehicles according to engine-related performance metrics, including speed, RPM, fuel efficiency and idle time. Users also can drill down to PerformX Dashboard’s real-time metrics display from Logistics Intelligence, according to the company.

PeopleNet says Logistics Intelligence is the only fleet management reporting software with expanded comparative reporting periods, eliminating time-span restrictions on tracked data; its log information is the only exception, which meets six- and 12-month compliance regulations.

According to the company, there are a variety of flexible reporting options by driver or vehicle, including log (hours and payroll), location (GPS), messaging (driver- and dispatch-generated, volume and content) and PerformX engine diagnostics (fault codes and alarms), as well as administrative reports; in addition, there are several report delivery options:

“We’re committed to providing fleet managers greater power and control over obtaining the information they need to be more successful and do it more easily,” says Brian McLaughlin, chief operating officer of Minneapolis-based PeopleNet. “This information is essential for timely feedback in recognizing and retaining high-performance drivers, and coaching those to modify behavior and improve performance.”
