Volvo’s new VolvoSCR website gives customers access to a wide range of information detailing how SCR works, how it improves fuel economy and lowers operating costs, and how Volvo’s SCR technology eliminates the need for active regeneration of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) during normal operation.

The website contains numerous links and documents, each with information on specific aspects of SCR technology and operation. These include a detailed video presentation by Ed Saxman, Volvo Trucks product manager – drivetrain, fact sheets about SCR components and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and comparisons of the benefits of SCR to the drawbacks of massive exhaust gas recirculation (MEGR).

In addition, there are links to written and video testimonials by Volvo customers on their real-world experience with SCR. These customers – a fleet operator and a long-haul driver – offer their perspectives on the simplicity of SCR in daily usage and its superior performance. Other links include a news report from the Mid-America Trucking Show on widespread industry support for SCR, plus an SCR information website supported by a broad array of truck and engine manufacturers, suppliers, and industry organizations.
