Volvo Trucks North America has a new website, www.volvoscr.com, designed to educate the trucking industry about the environmental, operational and fuel efficiency benefits of its selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emissions technology. The company says the new website gives customers access to a wide range of information detailing how SCR works, how it improves fuel economy and lowers operating costs, and how Volvo’s SCR technology eliminates the need for active regeneration of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) during normal operation.

The website contains numerous links and documents, each with information on specific aspects of SCR technology and operation: These include a detailed video presentation by Ed Saxman, Volvo Trucks drivetrain product manager; fact sheets about SCR components and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF); and comparisons of SCR and massive exhaust gas recirculation (MEGR). In addition, there are links to written and video testimonials by Volvo customers on their real-world experience with SCR.
