HR Ewell, a regional food grade carrier, announced that Kirk Erickson has joined as director of sales. Erickson has had two jobs in the past 27 years; several years in the family trucking business based in Springfield, Mo., and most recently at Prime Inc., running its food grade tanker division.
“Bringing Kirk on is a strategic move to increase our length of haul for food-grade products transportation, and we’ve followed Kirk’s success for many years,” says Don Thomas, vice president of international and national sales for HR Ewell, based in East Earl, Pa.
“Kirk is very familiar with our business and our longevity as a premiere bulk tank transportation company,” says Randy Sheeler, vice president of operations. “I’ve worked with the Ericksons for several years, and they are a true trucking family with great success and great knowledge in the industry. Kirk will bring added value in our long-haul initiatives and greatly increase our loaded mile ratio and average length of haul. There is no doubt that we are experiencing very difficult economic times, but we are willing to invest in our future and will be very aggressive to add profitable business where it best makes sense.”
