Preco Safety Products says its SRS (Short Range Sound) Back-up Alarm uses “narrow band” alarm technology that emits sound at multiple frequencies but only within a small range, resulting in a combination of warning capability and annoyance reduction.
According to the company, a wider range of frequencies used by broadband alarms may result in a sound that blends easily with ambient noise and is too different to be recognized as a warning signal. The company says the SRS uses a proprietary speaker and driver hybrid construction to produce a sound that is perceived to dissipate quicker than a pure-tone alarm.
