YRC Inc., a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc., announced additional enhancements to its suite of Expedited Precision services. New Fastest Ground service options are intended to make it easier and less time-consuming for customers to expedite time-sensitive shipments by eliminating the need to supply delivery dates every time expedited shipping is required.
With the new enhancements, customers now can write “YRC Time-Critical Fastest Ground” or “YRC Time-Advantage Fastest Ground” on their standard bill of lading, check the appropriate box on a quote-free bill of lading sticker available from their local YRC account executive, or select Fastest Ground on the my.yrc.com online bill of lading, and their shipment automatically moves at the fastest in-network YRC transit speed.
“As customers look for ways to reduce costs and meet the increasingly stringent demands of today’s supply chains, we continue to simplify the purchasing process,” says John Garcia, executive vice president and chief sales officer for YRC Worldwide, based in Overland Park, Kan. “Our Expedited Precision solutions provide customers with the flexibility to migrate their costly domestic air or dedicated expeditor shipments to a more economical transportation solution, and reduce the amount of time they spend doing it.”

As part of its Time-Critical and Time-Advantage service offerings, YRC says it also provides a Weekend Advantage solution, which it describes as an economical alternative to traditional air forwarding or dedicated carrier services for shippers that utilize those modes. Weekend Advantage allows customers to expedite shipments over the weekend (Friday to Monday or Thursday to Monday) with ground service that reaches throughout the United States.
YRC says both its Time-Critical and Time-Advantage services also provide flexible air and ground transportation options to meet any critical shipment need, and that all expedited services can be viewed, quoted and booked online at my.yrc.com.
