Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is offering SmarTireTire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) by Bendix CVS at a cost savings to aftermarket distributor customers when multiple TPMS kits are purchased. The offer is in effect during the first quarter of 2010 only and ends March 31.

SmarTire reads pressure and temperature information from inside the tire and communicates wirelessly to an onboard receiver, which forwards the information to a multifunction two-inch display installed on the vehicle dash. The display alerts the driver to loss of air pressure or high tire temperature and provides pressure information to maintenance personnel.

“Bendix is always looking for ways to help our aftermarket channel partners bolster their business,” says Fred Andersky, director of marketing – Controls for Bendix, based in Elyria, Ohio. “We are pleased to offer this limited-time opportunity that can help make SmarTire TPMS easily available to our distribution network and their customers. Tires, when not properly inflated, can significantly increase annual costs for fuel and tire wear and tear. The SmarTire system is easily retrofitted for almost any commercial vehicle, allowing our distributors’ customers to start improving ROI immediately. For some fleets, the SmarTire system can pay for itself in as little as eight months.”
