Xata Corp., a provider of fleet optimization software and services, announced that Pinnergy Ltd. – a provider of drilling, fluid and oil and gas waste disposal services to the energy industry – is installing Xatanet on 78 of its trucks in the Barnett Shale area of Texas, the site of many natural gas fields.

The company says it will leverage Xatanet to better manage its fleet performance, particularly with asset tracking and the ability to oversee truck and driver activity. Pinnergy also plans to integrate Xatanet with its existing fleet management capabilities to enhance customer service.

“Xatanet’s visibility will give us the tools we need to monitor and manage our fleet with much greater efficiency,” says Jeannie Hollingshead, Pinnergy’s vice president of IT and chief administrative officer. “The on-demand any-time aspect of Xata’s software will also allow us to monitor our fleet around the clock and make adjustments where necessary.”

“Focusing on delivering state-of-the-art fleet performance management solutions allows us to provide our customers with applications and professional services that help optimize their fleet performance,” says David Gagne, executive vice president of field operations for Minneapolis-based Xata. “Aside from reducing costs and streamlining Pinnergy’s operations, Xatanet’s flexibility will allow Pinnergy to integrate their fleet performance management software with other internal systems.”
