Freightliner Trucks has announced a partnership with Allison Transmission Inc. to offer Allison Optimized packages for vocational markets. Allison Optimized is a holistic approach to configuring a vehicle’s driveline designed to deliver optimal performance, durability, fuel efficiency and driveline protection for specific vocational trucks.

Allison Optimized packages will be featured on Freightliner chassis for specific vocational applications beginning in the second quarter of 2010. Additional Allison Optimized Packages will be introduced throughout the year that target vocational and over-the-road segments.

Freightliner Trucks officially launched the new venture at the World of Concrete trade show this week in Las Vegas, Nev. At the show, the Allison Optimized Packages were featured on the all-new Freightliner Coronado dump truck and Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks.

“Freightliner is an industry leader in durability, reliability and efficiency,” says Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Portland, Ore.-based Freightliner Trucks. “The essence of our Run Smart branding is integrated into every aspect of our product, including its components. The Allison Optimized partnership not only reinforces our brand positioning of efficient business solutions but takes it to the next level.”
