ACS TripPak Services, a Xerox company, is set to release TripPak Mobile this weekend at the Truckload Carriers Association convention in Las Vegas. The new application, designed for smartphones such as the Apple iPhone and Android, will enable drivers to capture images of important paperwork such as bills of lading and other proof of delivery documents from anywhere.

Drivers will be able to download TripPak Mobile from the apps store of their phone provider, says Mitch Hixon, vice president of sales and marketing for ACS TripPak Services. Once drivers download the TripPak Mobile app, they can take photos of documents by placing the smartphone into a clipboard device. The clipboard device, provided to drivers at no cost by ACS TripPak, has a plexiglass cover that drivers place over the document to be captured to enhance the image quality.

In addition to capturing document images, TripPak Mobile will use smartphone features to capture signatures along with the GPS position, date and time of document capture.

“With cash flow being king, this makes it more convenient for the driver. It’s just a win-win for everybody,” Hixon says.
