Cooltrax Americas has been awarded a contract by Core-Mark International to supply its Fresh InTransit cold-chain monitoring solution across Core-Mark’s fleet of refrigerated trailers and 24 of its distribution centers. Core-Mark, which began retrofitting its fleet with Fresh InTransit in March, will include the technology on all future trailer purchases.

Core-Mark is one of the largest broad-line full-service marketers and distributors of packaged consumer products in North America. It also provides fresh products to the convenience store industry. Founded in 1888, Core-Mark provides distribution and logistics services to more than 24,000 retail locations across the United States and Canada.

The implementation of Cooltrax’s Fresh InTransit will enable Core-Mark to monitor in real time the location, temperature alarm, and door activity of each compartment in its fleet of multitemp and dual-temp trailers. “We can now remotely monitor our Carrier refrigeration units, determine the location of our untethered trailers and bring this information into our state-of-the-art warehouse management system,” says Frank Kovach, director of transportation for Core-Mark.

Core-Mark also will implement the application in its distribution centers. Through the installation of the Cooltrax Gateway in distribution centers, the company will be able to monitor critical control points throughout storage and holding rooms.
