Volvo and GMC Truck Center of Carolina has changed its operating name to Advantage Truck Center. The change more accurately reflects the full-service truck dealership’s broadened scope of operations across its three locations in North Carolina.

Advantage Truck Center offers Volvo, GMC, Isuzu, Hino, Autocar and Xspotter commercial trucks. Advantage’s product and service offerings include used parts, new parts, maintenance and repair service, a collision center, new and used truck sales, traditional and subprime financing, full-service leasing, rental and contract maintenance.

“This change comes at an exciting time,” says owner Terry Young. “The transportation community is rebounding. It’s the perfect time for us to more precisely position the company with our customers. Since our inception in September of 1995, we have competed successfully and profitably in our marketplace. These latest actions ensure our continued success in an ever-changing environment. Why Advantage? It’s simply what we do. We offer every possible advantage to our customers so they can focus on what they do best and improve their bottom line.”

Young has been in the commercial truck business for nearly 40 years, including 20 years with Volvo Trucks North America, finishing his career there as executive vice president of commercial operations and chairman of Volvo Trucks Canada. He purchased his dealership and leasing company in 1995 after leaving Volvo. He also is a past chairman of the Truck Rental and Leasing Association.

Advantage Truck Center is a Charlotte, N.C.-based full-service truck dealership with branch facilities in Hickory and Rocky Mount, N.C. Its sister company, Advantage Truck Leasing, is a full-service leasing and commercial truck rental operation with locations throughout North Carolina. The leasing operation gains nationwide parts and service support through the NationaLease network of independent leasing companies.
