Reliable Transportation Specialists Inc. (RTSI) of Chesterton, Ind., announced that it has implemented Transflo Express truckstop scanning from Pegasus TransTech. RTSI employs 350 owner-operators and specializes in intermodal drayage to and from rail ramps in Chicago, Detroit, Columbus (Ohio), Kansas City (Mo.) and Atlanta. The fleet also serves the international port of Savannah, Ga., and provides door-to-door dry van, reefer and flatbed truckload service throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Eastern Canada. The company began using Transflo Express at the beginning of May.

“We got a recommendation from J.B.Hunt that (Pegasus TransTech) was a fantastic company, that (Transflo Express was) in all the Pilot’s and Love’s truckstops,” says Andy Bozak, director of compliance for RTSI. “Our drivers like to go to Pilot, and it’s really easy to say, hey, go to any Pilot’s or Love’s. The operation on their end was simple – you hand it to a clerk, and she does it for you.”

Prior to implementing Transflo Express, RTSI had its drivers fax their documents for processing and billing. “Drivers would fax from a truckstop or beg a shipper to do it,” Bozak says. “We were paying hefty fees for faxing – half the time getting them and half the time not, half the time being able to read them and half the time not.” Now, says Bozak, “the documents look great. They’re clear, and they get here quickly.”

In addition to Pilot and Love’s, Transflo Express is available at many independent truckstops – for a total of more than 550 from coast to coast.
