The California Air Resources Board settled with three companies for more than $43,000 total as a result of clean air law violations. Paragon Industries of Fresno was fined $22,125 for failing to properly inspect its diesel vehicles and properly attach emissions control labels on its engines. Superior Grocers of Santa Fe Springs was fined $15,300 for failing to register and provide accurate information to register TRU units. HFS North America of Bloomingdale was fined $6,000 for failing to properly inspect its diesel vehicles between 2007 and 2009.
California law requires that companies must maintain and inspect their diesel vehicles to meet clean air standards.
