ConocoPhillips introduced its next-generation premium low-ash natural gas engine oil, 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD. Formulated to meet the increased performance demands of today’s high-output natural gas engines, the new 76 oil is designed to help natural gas industry operators increase productivity by enabling their engines to operate smoothly at maximum efficiency, protecting the hardware and minimizing downtime while also improving the bottom line by reducing operational expenses.

“At ConocoPhillips Lubricants, we understand the challenges of keeping natural gas engines operating at peak condition under the most demanding circumstances,” says Reginald Dias, director of Commercial Products for ConocoPhillips. “Operators who use our new 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD formulation stand to benefit from enhancements in wear reduction, engine parts cleanliness, valve recession control and ability for extending oil drain service. In fact, 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD has passed extensive field tests and performed extremely well under the most severe conditions, ultimately keeping engines clean and running at optimal levels.”

76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD is a premium-quality low-ash dispersant-detergent gas engine oil designed for use in four-stroke cycle engines fueled by natural gas or liquid propane gas. Formulated with next-generation additive technology, it combines the advantages of high-quality group II base stocks and performance additive to provide excellent engine cleanliness, deposits control and reduced wear and corrosion. The new technology further advances ability for extended oil drain service already established by the earlier 76 TRITON 5005 technology. The new low-ash technology helps to protect emissions control devices such as catalytic converters and exhaust aftertreatment from fouling from high ash or catalyst poisons.

“Our customers will appreciate our new premium low ash gas engine oil 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD because it builds on the already proven performance and heritage of the previous offering, 76 Triton 5005,” Dias says. “Most notably, this new premium and mainline natural gas engine oil will keep critical components free from sludge and deposits, prevent deterioration of valves and help to reduce maintenance costs.”
