Kenworth announced that its new aerodynamically-designed T700 now is in full production at the company’s manufacturing plant in Chillicothe, Ohio.

“We’re seeing positive demand for the T700 and expect it to increase as customers purchase fuel-efficient aerodynamic trucks as their business and the economy strengthens,” says Marilyn Santangelo, Kenworth assistant general manager for operations. Last month, Kenworth received an order for 500 T700s from Stevens Transport in Dallas.

Kenworth says the new T700 has the lowest aerodynamic drag of any truck in company history and has earned U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay program certification. The T700, which targets over-the-road and team driver operations, offers a wide-cab and 75-inch Aerodyne sleeper with 8-foot cathedral ceiling. The T700 may be ordered with either the 12.9-liter Paccar MX engine or 15-liter Cummins ISX15 engine.
