During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Sept. 19-25, companies across the United States and Canada will host special events and promotions in honor of professional truck drivers. From providing entertainment to distributing freebies to simply offering coupons or special discounts, the trucking industry will give back to those who have worked so hard.

The Truckload Carriers Association has launched a new forum to help keep track of all these events. Companies are encouraged to visit www.DriverAppreciation.com and register their events. Developed for TCA by uDrove LLC, the new website will allow truckers to search for driver appreciation events being held within a specified state, city and/or distance in miles from a city.

“The number of companies hosting Driver Appreciation Week programs has increased significantly since NTDAW first launched 12 years ago,” says John Kaburick, TCA chairman and president of Earl L. Henderson Trucking Co. of Salem, Illinois. “This website will serve as a clearinghouse for all North American activities so drivers can see at a glance the wide variety of events taking place to honor them and plan their routes accordingly.”

To post an activity, companies will be asked basic contact and location information, as well as the type of event (free meal, discount offer, prizes/gifts, etc.), drivers who may attend (all CDL holders, only CDL holders affiliated with the host company, etc.), and if the general public and media are invited to attend. In addition, companies are asked to download a NTDAW banner graphic to display on their own websites, linking drivers to the new website.
