Trojan Battery Co., a manufacturer of deep cycle batteries, announced the appointment of Jeff Elder to the position of president. Elder, a five-year veteran of Trojan, served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer guiding the strategic growth of the organization. Prior to joining Trojan, Elder served as COO and CFO at Dynamic Cooking Systems. He also held the position of COO and CFO at Rand Technology, served as vice president of finance at Avery Dennison and has held management positions at Toshiba America, Emerson Electric and Arthur Anderson. Elder’s expertise in finance, operations and strategic planning spans more than 30 years.

“As a family-owned business, the position of president at Trojan has historically been served by a Godber family member,” says Rick Godber, chairman and chief executive officer at Trojan Battery. “Jeff Elder will be the first president in Trojan’s 85-year history that has not been family member. This extremely important appointment demonstrates our confidence in Jeff’s leadership capabilities. Jeff has demonstrated the ability to expand Trojan Battery into new market opportunities with market share gains in both renewable energy and trucking industries, as well as increasing Trojan’s core business during challenging economic times.”

In his new position as president, Elder will report directly to Godber and be responsible for the overall strategic management of all operations within Trojan Battery. Godber will continue in his role as chairman and CEO, focusing on the future strategic direction for Trojan Battery.
