SkyBitz and McLeod Software have announced that McLeod Software customers are able to install a newly integrated SkyBitz asset tracking and management module in beta.

With this new integration module, McLeod Software’s LoadMaster users are provided with visibility of enhanced SkyBitz trailer information, such as door opened or closed, cargo empty or loaded, and trailer motion started and stopped.

The companies say this information can help companies better manage their business by:

* Having visibility to the status and location of trailers within LoadMaster system.
* Determining when loads have been delivered to unplanned locations using the cargo empty/loaded and location data.
* Improving control of trailers being utilized by their customers for unauthorized loads through the use of exception-based reporting.

Previously, LoadMaster users only had visibility to SkyBitz generated trailer positions. These enhancements provide the ability to identify the availability of trailers within the closest proximity for a load pick up.

“Transportation companies are constantly looking for ways to increase visibility into their mobile assets,” said Homaira Akbari, president and CEO, SkyBitz. “Through the integration of our asset tracking technology with McLeod’s LoadMaster, customers are able to access greater detailed information and more effectively manage their transportation needs.”

The finalized publically available software integration version will be included in the McLeod Software Winter 2011 release, slated for the first quarter of 2011.
