US 1 reports higher 3Q net income

US 1 Industries said Monday, Nov. 15, that operating revenues increased by $24.0 million to $156.4 million for the nine months ended Sept. 30 from $132.4 million for the same period in 2009, an increase of 18.1 percent primarily attributable to the increase of load activity. The company’s operating revenues for the three months ended Sept. 30 increased by $11.7 million to $56.4 million compared to $44.7 million in the same 2009 period, an increase of 26.1 percent.

Operating income derived from operations increased $4.4 million from a loss of $0.2 million for the 2009 nine-month period to income of $4.2 million for the 2010 nine-month period. Operating income derived from operations for the three months ended Sept. 30 was $2.0 million compared to $0.4 million in the same 2009 period.

The company’s net income for the 2010 nine-month period was $1.4 million compared to a loss of $0.5 million for the 2009 nine-month period, an increase of $1.9 million. Net income for the three months ended Sept. 30 was $0.8 million compared to $0.2 million in the same 2009 period.
