The North American Council for Freight Efficiency has published two free Freight Efficiency Executive Reports on its website at www. nacfe.org. The reports are part of NACFE’s effort to help the trucking industry accelerate the rate of adoption of freight efficient products, technologies and practices.

“With the abundance of new products and information in today’s marketplace, it is difficult for the trucking industry to analyze every possible efficiency solution or technology,” says Michael Roeth, NACFE executive director. “The trucking industry needs real-world trustworthy information and solutions. Our hope is that these factual reports will help decision makers implement technologies and procedures that help not only their operation, but also the industry at large.”

The Executive Reports offer a balanced investigation of the featured topic, providing both the improved performance and economic considerations, while also being sure to identify any potential consequences of its use. The first two reports now available explore the subjects of 6×2 tractors and wide-base single tires. Additional reports will be published in the future, and the industry is invited to comment on the various reports or even suggest further areas of investigation for future NACFE Freight Efficiency Executive Reports.

NACFE also will be holding its third Driving Innovation meeting in conjunction with the NTEA/Calstart Green Truck Summit and NTEA Work Truck Show at the Indianapolis Convention Center on March 9 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. An expert panel will discuss the current state of freight efficiency in North America. Registration is free and requested at www.nacfe.org.
