Accuride Corp.’s Fabco division has released its new line of 18,000-23,000-lb. FSD-23 low-profile Steerable Drive Axles designed to offer customers a lighter weight and lower height solution for heavy-duty all-wheel-drive vehicles. The low-profile axle design uses a high torque capacity and compact single reduction differential assembly to reduce the axle profile, while a fabricated steel housing design is designed for lower weight.

The fourth-generation 18,000-23,000-lb. product retains the wheel end assembly from the previous SDA series of Fabco axles. It also feaures a broad range of ratios, optional driver-controlled differential locks, nonproprietary S-Cam brakes with Gunite automatic slack adjusters, inclined spherical bearing kingpins, fabricated steel axle housing construction and a modular design.

The FSD-23 axle is developed for severe-service applications such as military, oil field, construction, mining, wildland fire and municipal utility.
