Swift Transportation Co. recently congratulated its terminal shop in Albuquerque, N.M., for the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence for 2011. The certification recognizes technicians that have taken and passed written exams to demonstrate their expertise in truck repair and dedication to continuing education.

The ASE Blue Seal of Excellence recognizes a facility that has a high number of ASE Certified Technicians. To qualify, a minimum of 75 percent of technicians performing diagnosis and repairs must be ASE-certified. Each area of service also must be covered by at least one ASE Certified Technician, excluding service consultants, estimators, lube technicians, helpers and administrative personnel.

For 2011, Swift’s Albuquerque Terminal has qualified with 83 percent of its technicians ASE-certified in all areas of service provided. This year’s qualification includes four Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technicians – Donald Peterson, Glenn Logan, Phillip Mellor and David Hickman – and two L2 Advanced Level Specialist Technicians – John Bentz and Angel Chavez – on staff.
