Bennett Motor Express of McDonough, Ga., is implementing Transflo Express truck stop scanning from Pegasus TransTech in its fleet of about 570 owner-operator power units. The company, a division of Bennett International Group, hauls flatbed, heavy and oversize loads for business and government customers.

Transflo Express is designed to allow drivers to have signed delivery receipts and other essential paperwork scanned at a participating truck stop and instantly transmitted to company headquarters for billing and settlement. Pegasus TransTech operates almost 800 locations throughout the United States and Canada, including all Pilot Flying J Travel Centers, all Love’s Travel Stops and many independent locations.

With Transflo Express, Bennett drivers hand their delivery documents to a fuel desk attendant for scanning. In seconds, these documents are delivered electronically to Bennett headquarters for immediate billing and payroll processing. Transflo Express is deisgned to speed the flow of paperwork, reducing days-sales-outstanding and increasing cash flow.

“It’s certainly going to improve the process for settlements for our drivers,” says Asia Grimes, director of marketing and public relations for Bennett International Group. “We’ve always done what we call the fast-pay program. When a driver’s paperwork is received, the driver can be paid that day. For most of our owner-operators, this is a better, faster way to be paid the same day.”

Grimes says that Bennett is implementing Transflo Express in its Bennett Motor Express division, but plans to make Transflo Express available in two other transportation divisions, Bennett Driveaway and Bennett Truck Transport. Bennett Driveaway provides qualified drivers to ferry-powered equipment like trucks and road legal construction vehicles to end users or jobsites. Bennett Truck Transport delivers manufactured homes and towable recreational vehicles.
