For its education outreach program, the Port of Long Beach recently was presented with the Long Beach Unified School District Superintendent’s Distinguished Community Service Award. The port was honored for its “outstanding support of student achievement” at the Long Beach Education Foundation’s annual Most Inspiring Students Awards dinner.
The port’s education outreach includes scholarships for students, classroom curriculum for teachers, field trips, internships, service-learning events and more.
