Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. on Tuesday, July 5, launched OD Expo Services, a customized offering for companies that ship booths and materials to trade shows and expos. Old Dominion will perform the pickup and line haul, while a partner will handle the final-mile delivery to the convention center hosting the trade show. The new service is available through Old Dominion’s nationwide network of 213 service centers.

“Companies need a partner – one who will guarantee shipments from start to finish and promise a smooth and painless process,” says Marty Freeman, senior vice president of sales for the Thomasville, N.C.-based company. “OD Expo Services extends Old Dominion’s best-in-class offerings to the hectic pressure-packed world of expos and conventions.”

Old Dominion provides online tracking and tracing and monitored shipments 24/7 for OD Expo Services shipments, and the new service can be coupled with Old Dominion’s expedited or security divider services. OD-Expedited provides daily on-time deliveries, guaranteed deliveries within normal transit times and time-specific deliveries, including air service, tailored to customers’ needs.

Security Divider Service provides guaranteed locked-in security for special or uncrated freight. With the service, customers’ freight is loaded into the nose of a trailer and locked securely into place at its origination point and remains locked until reaching its final destination. Customers can place an OD Expo Services order through odfl4me.com, a secured Website that allows customers to manage their Old Dominion accounts to control transactions, including scheduling pickups and real-time tracking.
