Snap Fitness, a franchisor of 24/7 express fitness centers, announces a partnership with Rolling Strong, a provider of health and wellness programs for professional drivers, that will offer an easy-in easy-out workout concept at numerous Pilot Flying J Travel Centers nationwide. The 960-square-foot workout centers are designed to help thousands of daily travelers achieve their fitness goals while on the road.
“The new gyms are designed to accommodate the trucking community and those who travel frequently for business or vacation, so they can get the workouts they need quickly and conveniently,” says Peter Taunton, chief executive officer and founder of Snap Fitness.
Each Snap Fitness Rolling Strong gym will be located at a Pilot Flying J travel center or travel plaza, will be staffed by fitness professionals and will include a variety of fitness equipment. Monthly gym dues are $29.95 for the trucking community, which will provide access to the Snap Fitness Rolling Strong gyms as well as any of the 1,300 Snap Fitness clubs worldwide. Family membership options for the trucking community also will be available. Current Snap Fitness club members will be able to use the amenities at Snap Fitness Rolling Strong gyms at no extra charge.
“Pilot Flying J understands the challenge professional drivers face in maintaining a healthy lifestyle while on the road,” says Jimmy Haslam, Pilot Flying J CEO. “That’s why we are pleased to partner with Snap Fitness and Rolling Strong and provide convenient locations to drivers to help them improve their health and fitness.”
The first Snap Fitness Rolling Strong gym is scheduled to open in the fall at Pilot Flying J, with a total of 10 locations expected to be open and operating by the first quarter of 2012. Go to www.snapfitnessrollingstrong.com to learn more about locations and amenities.
“We are honored to be associated with Peter and his national brand of Snap Fitness for the transportation industry,” says Bob Perry, “The Trucker Trainer” and chairman of the American Trucking Associations’ Safety Management Council’s Health & Wellness Working Group and president of Rolling Strong. “Together, working with Pilot Flying J, we will bring specially designed nutrition and workout programs to the professional truck driver where they work – on the road.”
Other Rolling Strong programs include nutritional programs for drivers, an online Rolling Strong Driver Wellness Tracker, a driver wellness handbook, a network of 100 truck-friendly Department of Transportation medical clinics, sleep testing and treatment and on-site BIO screenings. Rolling Strong also is working with the National Association of Workplace Programs, administered by Enrollment First Inc., to educate their members on the benefits of health and wellness. Members can take advantage of several health and wellness tools, including the Snap Fitness Rolling Strong Program.
“Bob has truly been on the forefront of educating the public about health issues many professional drivers face,” Taunton says. “Together, I think we can really make a difference.”
The Snap Fitness and Rolling Strong partnership will launch at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas from Thursday, Aug. 25, Saturday, Aug. 27, during which Perry will be in booth No. 24154 providing free health and wellness checks for drivers. He also will be enlisting the first 1,000 drivers as founding members of the new Snap Fitness Rolling Strong Program.
