Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. announced the appointment of Ross Parr as vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary; and Jim Raynor as vice president of equipment and maintenance.

Parr joins the Old Dominion legal team with 13 years of experience at several East Coast law firms. His experience includes eight years as a member of a corporate and securities legal group, where his responsibilities included counseling public companies, including Old Dominion. Parr will succeed Old Dominion’s current general counsel, Joel McCarty, when he retires in May 2012.

Raynor joins Old Dominion with more than 25 years of experience in fleet maintenance and management for various less-than-truckload companies, including 15 years managing a fleet of 1,800 tractors and 10,000 trailers at another LTL carrier. He will succeed Old Dominion’s vice president of equipment and maintenance, Ed Richardson, when he retires in December.

“We are pleased to welcome Ross and Jim to the Old Dominion family,” says David Congdon, president and chief executive officer of the Thomasville, N.C.-based company. “Both of these individuals boast extensive experience in the LTL industry.”
