Teletrac, a GPS fleet tracking and telematics provider, announced availability of the latest release of its core software platform, Fleet Director. According to the company, Fleet Director 9 combines new business intelligence technologies and the latest in-cab color touchscreen tablets with 2-way messaging, fleet tracking, navigation and safety analytics capabilities. Teletrac says that with Fleet Director, operations managers – across industry segments including trucking, HVAC, energy and mining, construction, transportation and specialty services – can run fleets more efficiently, at lower cost, while improving driver safety and productivity.

“Teletrac has a strong track record of bringing innovative solutions to market that set the standard for efficient fleet operations, safe driving and full FMCSA and DOT compliance,” says Drew Hamilton, executive vice president of Teletrac. “We are extremely proud to launch Fleet Director 9 and encouraged by positive customer feedback particularly on new features that enhance the driver experience and focus on safer driving.”

Teletrac says Fleet Director’s newest onboard navigation, combined with the in-cab color tablet with Hours of Service (HOS) and eLogs, offers even more support for safer driving. Tablet screens are bright and easy to read; new navigation capabilities provide helpful information for drivers such as street address overlaid on maps; and HOS data entry and workflow is intuitive. Additionally, violations warnings, two-way messaging between drivers and dispatch, status updates plus data contained within eLogs are highly visible, according to the company.
